restoring a brush’s shape

by Wesley Lowe

Over time, my flat brushes tend to lose their original shape and crispness.

To regain their original form, I put a little linseed oil on the bristles, then use a folded piece of card and a paper clamp. I insert the brush hairs, fold over the card, and apply the clamp.

I leave it clamped to the top of the bristles until I want to use the brush.

Just wash out the linseed and the brushes are ready.
