Prospectus

Description

This is an online exhibition presented by The American Society of Marine Artists. Up to 100 pieces of artwork will be attractively presented on webpages dedicated solely to the The ASMA Awards Exhibition.

Eligibility

Open to all Regular Members, Signature Members, and new members of the American Society of Marine Artists. Fellows of ASMA are not eligible. Members must be current on dues payments prior to entering competition.
Non-Members can participate by first becoming an ASMA member. Click here to join ASMA.

Members of ASMA must be current on dues prior to show entry.

Jury

A jury of 3 Fellows of ASMA will select artwork to be included in the exhibition. The jurors’ decision is final. Only juried art will be exhibited.

Dates

Entry Deadline — November 3, 2025

Acceptance Notification — December 1, 2025

Exhibition opens — December 1, 2025

Exhibition Closes — June 1, 2026

Awards:

Best in Show: $3,000

Second Place: $1500

Third Place: $500

Merit Awards (5): $200 each

Requirements for artwork

Original artwork only, created within the last three years.

Subject matter: artwork inspired by water: vessels, waterways, coastal scenes, and marine life in all its forms.

Accepted Media: all painting mediums, drawings, pastel, sculpture and scrimshaw.

Digital artwork will not be accepted.

Previously shown work, sold work, and unsold work are all eligible.

Sales

This is an exhibition only. It is not a for-sale show. Any sales that might ensue from exposure in this exhibition are between the artist and the customer. ASMA will not be involved.

How to Enter

Enter at showsubmit.com.

Entry Fee

first image — $35.
each additional image — $10.
A maximum of 5 images may be submitted.
Entry fees must be paid online at time of entry.

Image and Filename Specifications:

Submit original JPEG image files. Crop out all parts of the photo that are not the actual work. Do not show a frame, mat, etc.

Image must be displayed right side up.

You do not need to resize your image files or rename your image files.

Photo Release Statement

Artists agree to allow the American Society of Marine Artists to use your entry image(s) without compensation by ASMA and its representatives. Images or likenesses may be used in publications, websites or social media for any lawful purpose or advertising.

Notification

All artists will receive notification by email after jurying is complete. (The notification will come from the email address office@showsubmit.com. Remember to check your spam folder, or add this address to your list of safe senders.)
